Barrel hooks are rigged with chain and used to lift metal barrels. They were widely used in the marine transportation world for loading and unloading barrel to and from ships. Many times they were used in sets of 4 or 5 to move 4 or 5 barrel at one time. They were also called barrel chimes because of the sound they made when striking a barrel. This pair is galvanized and shows very little signs of wear. The pair weight just under 4 pounds. They measure 5 inches long and have lip width of 2.79 inches. The eye dimensions are: 2.81” O.D., 1.52” I.D. The metal of the eye ring has a diameter of 0.65”.
